Hosted by: Idyllwild Climbers Alliance

On Sunday, June 4, 2017 the Idyllwild Climbers Alliance will host its Seventh Annual Climbers Festival. For the second consecutive year, we will be focusing on the Black Mountain area, which will improve access to camping and bouldering, as well as removing any trash and debris within the area. We will also continue to maintain the three main climber’s trails, Lunch Rock, the North Face of Tahquitz, and Suicide Rock.
Volunteers will meet at Idyllwild's Town Hall to enjoy coffee and pastries before heading out to the trails! Following a day of hard work, the alliance will have lunch in addition to a chance to win a raffle and bid on awesome gear.

Don’t miss out on keeping a classic climbing area accessible!

I think the end result is awesome, but please help me to understand the "festival" part of this event? It seems like a "volunteer cleanup day" to me..

What am I missing?

Wish I could go. I'm leaving for the Eastside or for sure I would be there to help and have fun.

There is a lunch and a swag give-away after the work is done. Festival might not be the best choice of words.

Hey I'm not hating on this event. I think it's great but why not turn it into a true festival? More fun = more people.

Guest speaker at night and beer. Boom ...festival!
