This is my 6yr old daughter, Anna.
She's lost a few teeth, as you can see...
This post isn't about my daughter, but about someone else's daughter.
He's just some guy in FLA that nobody here knows, Steve Tennis, a Park Service employee in Florida. And Steve happens to be the brother of my first climbing partner, and one of my best friends ever, so this post is about his niece.
If you also have a daughter-
Or if you can think of any woman that you've ever wanted to protect-
And if you have ever wanted the best life possible for that person-
I'll ask you to simply open the link below and have a look at this difficult story, and if you feel so compelled, to consider making a contribution, if you are able. Every last dollar helps and $1 donations would I am sure be welcomed and appreciated as much as $100 donations.

Most of us find it difficult to comprehend how any man could physically abuse any woman, but domestic violence is in fact alarmingly common in our society.
That said, this case is not a common one.
This case is, unfortunately, a horribly brutal example of domestic violence, in which a woman was beaten unconscious by a man more than twice her size, and once unconscious, he literally smashed her teeth out of her defenseless mouth.
Her father is fundraising to restore her ablity to smile again (thus, "pamelas-smile") and I cannot imagine what that must be like, for any of them.
This is not fake and this is not a scam.
As I said, her uncle was my first climbing partner and he officiated my wedding in 2005. If you have any doubts please PM me and I'll put you in touch with the family directly. The Go Fund Me platform also has protections against fraud (which this is not! =) )

Thanks very much,
-Matt
Edited to add-
This link is also at the top of my personal FB page and shared publicly there. Anyone compelled to do whatever they can should feel free to push the GoFundMe link out to a greater audience in any responsible way they see fit.
Bumping this thread (without dragging it down) to keep it on the front page would also help it reach a greater audience.
Pamela's family did not ask me for my help in any way and I have never met her. I saw this on her uncle's FB and I feel compelled to help get the word out in any way I can, these things "go viral" because people who are touched deeply decide to make a difference in the World, where they can.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Totally legitimate story. I spoke with Pamela's dad about this an hour ago. Please donate, if you are financially able to.

Looks like two $100 donations just took the effort up to $2500 raised, of their $10,000 goal. My gratitude to all of you who have been interested in this, or have been able to contribute!
Hope you all have a great day =)

Hey ya'll-
I promise not to keep doing this forever, but...
Today is my birthday!
Who among you is sappy enough to go and donate $2 to this as a birthday gift to me???
=)
The world needs more of that, let's rally and help Pam smile again!
Best,
-Matt

"... he took to beating her, until one day he beat her unconscious, then continued kicking her in the face breaking ½ her teeth..."
"...she can’t eat solid food, and is embarrassed to smile ... they have removed 4 stumps so far, but the repeated surgeries and follow up pain management keep cycling her through the withdrawal symptoms..."

Very positive update from Pamela's father:

Update 4
Posted by Steven Tennis
Tomorrow 3/7/17 is the big day.. Pamela gets her smile back. We thank you all for your support and encouragement.
By Christmas, with one change of dentist and $2400 spent, all the immediate trouble was gone. Tomorrow, these funds collected and a smidgen more will cover the down payment on the procedure, with $6000+ due in one month.
Pamela is so excited she can hardly wait. Anxious and appreciative, she feels this life changing event beyond her wildest imagination is becoming a reality,
We still need your help and generosity reaching our goal to make this all real. The final bill will come home with her tomorrow, and we all will see her all brand new smile.
Steve
