A friend and I are heading to the Tahoe area on Wednesday (4/27) and looking to rent pads for bouldering... Anyone know where we can rent them (Reno, Truckee, Carson City), or feel like renting to us if you're in the area?

You can borrow mine (2), I'm in Reno. As stated above though, forecast sucks and all(most) the boulders are still snowed in.

Thanks folks. Snow and climbing are fun...hopefully clears for the weekend. Heading to South Lake Tahoe through Sunday.

Portent, might just take you up on that (if there is anything to boulder).

For sport, I guess all access to walls is probably also snow (Eagle Creek Canyon, Bliss SP etc.)? Any all-season access areas?

For bouldering, is anything east of the Lake (Washoe Boulders etc...) worth hitting up, or better to just head down to Bishop?

Thanks again

If youre out here with limited time, heading to bishop might not be a bad idea. Its flurrying here in north shore yesterday and supposed to be doing it some more today/tonight. Rest of the week looks iffy too. Washoe boulders are good, but hardly a destination. If youre bouldering only, Id go south to bishop and get more done with less weather. Bummer, its been good before this bank of weather.

If youre sport climbing too, you can get to eagle creek canyon a bit, true value crag, even big chief if you hike up the hill. Some of donner is good to go for bolts. Gonna be walking thru some snow though. Emeralds. Some of the local smaller satellite areas, etc.

Id go to bishop if I was here on vacay and wanted to hget some climning done

Didn't know you were here for the weekend. Weather should be fine by Friday.
There's plenty of bouldering good to go on the south shore, i'd be happy to show you around but just have the one pad could use another. There's lots of sport climbing around too.
True Value Crag
Luther Spires and Luther Rock are both good to go
Mayhem Cove should be good at least on the SE facing
Space Domes
Woodfords sunny side is good to go although sport is very limited
Castle Rock
Phantom Spires
Dinosaur Rock
Spooner Crag
and more

I'd be down to climb this weekend too.
Caveat-Friday maybe a day for things to dry if the storm comes in bigger than expected. If I get the chance to work this weekend I have to take it.

Awesome beta folks. Looks like we have a bit to chew on now. Hopefully the rocks don't wash away tomorrow...

Gumby, probably Saturday sporting around south lake if you want to link up. Send a PM with contact info.
