Since I see a fair number of climbers eating canned tuna, I want to bring this to the forum's attention.

It appears to be breaking news, so it'll probably be all over the place in hours, but just in case...

chunk light is a hoax, there are no chunks in it. Cat food masquerading as something edible.

Solid albacore is the bomb.

There are actually more controls on cat food.

The unsaturated oils the people version is packed in can give cats Steatitis ( yellow fat disease)

Now wait a minute! I still remember Mike Ferrell and Bill Fujimoto explaining to me in 1970 or 71 why they only took tuna packed in oil on overnight climbs. They wanted all the calories they could get per unit of wieght and volume.

For canned fish I like sardines, kippers, herring, etc., lower down the food chain. Used to eat a lot of can tuna and salmon but it started grossing me out.

'Life-Threatening' Contaminatio

This shouldn't effect us here, as this was obviously translated hastily from the Italian.
