Hi there,
Visiting from Australia and looking for a climbing partner for Red Rocks Vegas on the 22nd of January. Hoping for good weather! Anyone interested? I can climb sport or trad, should be comfortable up to 5.11a. Been climbing 15 years. Not sure what gear I'd be bringing yet, but prefer just shoes, harness and belay device. Any other areas that will be climbable at that time of year within a 5 hour drive?

My daughter just arrived back from climbing in the Blue Mountains.

She said it was perfect weather there.

Consider a combination J Tree Red Rocks trip. Even the drive is quite enjoyable once you get off the I15

Flying almost halfway round the world from a dry hot dusty place to,... Vegas (where they don't know a Kiwi from an Aussie).

Have fun.

BTW Zion is pretty dismal currently.

Don't forget to bring your Vegemite!

It's expensive and hard to find over here. Cost Plus world market sells the smallest jar for about 8 dollars.

The biggest issue with Red Rocks is how much rain it has gotten in days prior to climbing. Take a look at this link:

http://www.lvclimberscouncil.org/#!climbing-after-rain/c3zz

which gives alternatives not too far away if it has been rainy before your trip.
