Jesse Ventura for President? He would like to run against Hillary and Bush, but when asked if it came down to him against Trump, he could beat him as an independent (after being chosen as the Libertarian canadate but turning it down...not so sure how that would work but ok...). Now I'm all for thinking outside of the box and god knows we need a change in this country, but this election year is just cRaZy. And my bet is that it is not over. I'm going to need the year left to know who I'm going to vote for.

I'm sure you have an opinion on this one; I don't. But I'm curious cause my brain is kind of an amused "wtf?" if you know what I mean

A few years ago it wouldn't sound too implausible.

But then his weirder side showed up and he decided to host that conspiracy program on tv and in short, no way.

^^^ Yea, I vaguely remember something about that. So how was he as a govenor anyway? Minn right?

edit; He showed up on the Nightly Show and I wasn't real sure if he was serious or not, but his body language said very much that he was.

Jessie got elected governor in part because he said he would repeal the annual
registration tax on snowmobiles, and they like that kind of talk in Minnesnowta

Consensus is he was a largely uninformed and goofball one term governor who got elected during a period of low voter turn out and anti politician sentiment

I'm sure Jesse would draw at least 4 or 5 votes away from Trump to add to his total of 11 votes he'd be able to get lined up by election day. I'm going off the early pre-polling of 30% of his relatives (ie, mom, dad brothers and sister etc) who he can count on for votes, the other 70% (Aunts and Uncles) going for Trump or uncommitted). If Biden gets in the race on the other hand, I'd see him being able to take the whole banana and all 11 of jesses relatives votes most likely.

That leaves jesse getting his own vote for a vote total of 1.

Unfortunately, we live in another age of anti-politician sentiment. I say "unfortunately," because real politicians know how to compromise and make deals that allow rational governance, but increasingly, the cores of both parties want office holders who will not compromise. They would rather make points than govern wisely. In this environment, who know what we'll get.

H. L. Mencken's comments about the intelligence of the American people seems far more clear today than then.

Oh brother.

I remember climbing out in Red Rocks a while back and a party on the same route was visiting from Minnesota. This was right around the time that Ventura was elected governor, so I asked one of the guys who he voted for. He glared at me and said it wasn't polite to ask. With that, I knew I had my answer.

No way would I vote Ventura for national leadership.

He just sounds too Canadian, eh?
