Personally, I think that being "genetically inferior" at killing people and/or promoting warfare is a gift to the female sex, not a tragedy.

I can say I truly do not care about either the proposition or how you defend it. Bravo!

A direct quote from the study "many of the male study participants had previously served in combat units, whereas female participants, by necessity, came directly from infantry schools or from noncombat jobs"
Sounds like the all-male study groups already had a built in advantage.
I'm not saying I agree or disagree with the findings, its just not a level playing field.

Interesting point.^^^^^^^^^^^
BUT, is the potential for massive fatal failure in the field in a real world event scenario worth the price in order to implement this combined gender fighting force concept?
I think that an ALL FEMALE UNIT pit against and ALL MALE UNIT would be a far more effective trial/experiment. The chatter I am getting from my still active duty "Operating" Shipmates, this idea is actually in the works in three different Services.

Whats left out of this story was the disciplinary and legal circus that resulted from this experiment.
From what I heard from the chief legal officer at 29 it was a mess.
BTW she's a fine climber, all round athlete, but she thought it an exercise in politically correct stupidity.

Good Post Kevin. Thanks for being "honest".

I was in the Army long enough ago, to have been drafted. I can't visualize a barracks with women in it. Other than the usual "mascots" or whatever.
That said. All of this is new. It hasn't played out yet fully. Women are quickly getting bigger and stronger, generation by generation. Title 9, is but two generations old. They are still probing the frontiers.

Women have not been succeeding in the NFL either.
From what was said above maybe they could make it into combat more effectively as snipers.

WOW!! Zbrown...good eyes.
That has been a viable consideration that is actually being tested as I type!
Comparing the NFL to this... oh man!

Women make every effort to be, fight to be, and take pride in being equal to men in almost every walk of life, but almost always take the high ground when their lack of equality is so obviously displayed in the battle field.
And what's wrong with that, Kevin? I wasn't the one being tested--women who wanted to fight were being tested.
Do you think one of those women would say what I just said was my personal opinion? Of course not. It's my opinion, where women in combat are concerned, not theirs.

As I posted in that other thread
It's funny when people talk about men compared to women and get angry. Ability and tendencies towards nurturing, risk, "adventure" or whatever are biological/genetic and there's nothing wrong with that. Study human evolution and imagine how well groups would have survived and reproduced if the only ones able to create and feed infants were also the ones who seek out risk and are were hunting food and fighting off competing groups. Male and female bodies and brains are physiologically and functionally different. No need to assume that's a bad thing. I'll add that there is genetic variation, as there should be for a species to adapt and survive.
PS, my brother went through West Point and is an officer in the Army and has noticed this issue, after several deployments, in many facets of the military.

I think in this day and age there would be enough forward thinking in the world for EVERY country to have a proportionate number of female fighters....
.....I mean, I am certain that ISIL and Al Queda both have "don't ask, don't tell" policies.

She had a full docket of just about everything sexually related in the UCMJ. Mostly minor assault and fraternization issues is what it sounded like.
From unsolicited cuddling up at night to worse.
It all went down a few months from her retirement and she didn't appreciate the increased workload either.

The US Army is actually conducting similar evaluations from my understanding.

Hey DOC, Bad choice. Both of them GOON squads totally disallow females/women to even handle a round let alone fight side by side with the.. Chosen Servants of Allah.
Check your package!!!

Some females can do it but they're rare.
You can't just get a random bunch of people into this kind of environment.
There's people born to do this sh!t without complaint.
And that is a fighting unit ..... kšatrīya warrior class ....

I totally agree with you that females as a rule don't have what it takes to be murderous, violent and blood thirsty like men do.
BINGO...
Can't really see the likes of most good and proper Ladies here, Tami, EKAT, L etal behaving in the manner that these dudes do on a regular day at the job..

That's what I meant by my first post, Chief.
There are many areas where the general population of women are equal to, may even surpass men, but personally I don't feel combat is one of those areas. There were women in the past who were natural born killers...but they were the rarity, not the norm.
My term "tragedy" was meant to be more ironic than anything...especially for people who think the sexes only differ in their physical makeup.
