Bjørn Myrer Lund

In 1985 Bjørn Myrer Lund and Odd Eliassen became the first two Norwegians on the summit of Everest.

During the years I started climbing, the stories connected to three Norwegian climbers were among the strongest fascinations or motivators. The three were Arne Næss Sr, Peter Wessel Zapffe and Bjørn Myrer Lund. Among them the Myrer Lund stories were the strongest, be it Myrer Lund leading the slopy and not well protected route Sunset Boulevard (7) at Kolsås or Bjørn coming tumbling down Terroristen at Dalbokollen. Wherever Myrer Lund went the stories were growing.

Bjørn is Mr Kolsås-Eastern-Wall himself, living close to the cliff and often being seen there climbing. He has spent the last three years recovering after nearly losing his life during a 2012 climbing expedition. From what I have heard, he is recovering well.

The story about Bjorn Myrer Lund and Dr Sudha Shahi. Bjorn Myrer Lund was very close to die in an avalanche in 2012. Luckily with a well organised climbing team and a well worth investment in sponsoring a Nepalese girl's education to become a doctor he is still going strong.

Awesome!!

Bjorn and I did Separate Reality together in 1980!!
(I tried to lead it. Neither of us did it clean)

I spent a lot of time with him that summer. He had a big red beard back then!
