Hi all,

I am looking for bouldering partners for Yosemite for the first two weeks of June. Will be traveling in California during that time and brought my climbing shoes :)
Because I flew all the way from Berlin-Germany I could not bring any more equipment than that. So it would be great if someone could bring a crash pad or tell me where to get one. So if you are a group and planning to go bouldering in Yosemite I would be very happy to join you guys!! I Boulder grades from 6a to 7a. Unfortunately I don't have much climbing experience and no equipment for that. So I will only go bouldering.

Write back when you are interested!

There are always people bouldering around Camp 4. Just go out and join in the fun.....you don't need a partner.

You will need to purchase a bouldering card, rescue insurance and an itinerant climber visa. The locals method is to purchase all three from the Ahwahnee hotel front desk. It is also possible to purchase them at the Thomas Kinkade Gallery on Pier 39 in San Francisco.

P.s. There is the possibility of purchasing them from a scalper known only as "The Duck". Though I've heard that finding him can be a wild goose chase. Namaste.

They wouldn't issue me a visa for any price....the hair growing in my ears gave away my age.

If you lose your visa privileges, like Mr. Donini, you will be relegated to the category of Alpinist. At that point you will only be able to 'boulder' while tied in to a rope and more than 35 meters from the ground. Handholds will be forbidden as you will need to pass the Yosemite Valley Offwidth Certification which can take a decade or more. Sleeping indoors is strictly forbidden.

Never sleeping indoors can be a drag but at least in alpinisim, unlike bouldering, your failures are visible only to the very few.

Doesn't the Mountain Shop rent pads?
