I have a sort of strange question. I am getting married in April and have been trying to find some cufflinks that express me, but it's pretty much impossible. So then I came up with the idea of making my own, and as an avid climber I thought making some cam-lobe cufflinks myself would be neat. However I can't bring myself to destroy or disassemble one of my Aliens, C4's or X4's and none of my local friends have any destroyed ones either.
What I am hoping is that someone might have a busted cam (or even just two cam lobes!) they're never going to use again, maybe a .3 or .4 (BD size, green or yellow Alien) that's been destroyed or mangled beyond repair? I'm of course happy to disassemble it myself if you have a mangled one. I'll gladly and thankfully pay shipping.
If you have anything that can help, or any other brilliant ideas, please post them up or you can email me directly from my profile.
Thanks!

Thanks for the response Gnome. I think the #1 Friend might be a bit big for cufflinks. But that single stem and the TCU in the background are interesting. What sizes are they? Do they look like two lobes could be salvaged off either one?
Thanks again!

give me a bit....But what Mucci says Below about reaching out to the maker of the Lobes of your choice, is probably the better way to go..
I have to say a big Shout Out to the wonders that be, We called each other Lobes!!
Just a memory . . ." LOBES" . . .

Email wired bliss, they have tons of 1/2" lobes they use as key chains.
They will hook you up.

Thanks Gnome and Mucci, great idea on Wired Bliss, I had forgotten about them. I've already reached out to BD, etc, and unfortunately they can't give or sell me just the lobes, ostensibly due to liability reasons I suppose.
I've emailed WB and hopefully they can hook me up!

metolius used to do cam lobes an keychain fobs. Ask them
Also, I recal seeing silver earrings that were climbing cam somewhere. They might easily be converted to cuff links.
Lastly, look here:
http://www.rockclimbingjewelry.com
The bolt hanger earrings look like they would convert to stud cuff inks by just shortening the stud.
Or maybe a lapel pin.
