Argghhh! You sicko sand slingers... Ahoy there mateys! Urrgghhhh! Ha! Uuuurrppp! Argghhhh, me fellow pirates; where do thou now sail on the barren seas? Your travels impress us and we greatly honor your newest accomplishments. For those about to rock, for those that rock, for those that study rocks, and for those that would have been better off as a rock in the first place, live now or die tomorrow, and we salute you...

There's no stopping the McTeam. After a breakfast of McD's favorites, I'd be lucky to change a tire in the time that it takes those pros to fire a pitch... Congrats, you monkeys!!!

Ammon,
It was awsome watching you two blast up Space Shot. It was great to have two firsts going on at the same time. We managed to do the first clean acsent of Cosmic Trauma, I am pretty sure it hasn't been done clean. Keep up the amazing stuff.
Peace

A clean ascent of Cosmic Trauma? Niiiiiiice, guys.

Way to set a standard. I'd like to hear more about your ascent. I wish I had my camera, I could have taken some great shots of you guys.

Here's a topo of our new route on Angels Landing:

Hey WideCrackJack

Where was the crux of your clean ascent? Did you use cam hooks?

Great job you guys!

There are probably two cruxes. The first is at the top of the corner on the second A3 pitch, blind nut placement to a beak/crack'n'up placement. The second crux is the hooking on the A3+ pitch. Depending on the topo you have seen, one shows X's(holes or bolts) that don't exist. Raally nice hooking to small nuts. The ratings on the original topos are about right excect that you can substitute a C for the A. Cam hooks weren't used, but many small nuts, (peanuts, HB's, RP's, Rock's) and very small cams, the smallest you have the nerve to stand on. We didn't have any of the small wild country cams, but I would have liked having them.
Gear List:
Hooks (your favorites)
beaks/peckers/crack'n'ups (a couple)
nuts (many/variety)
cams (smallest to largest)

Have Fun

I my experience cam hooks ususally suck. I rarely use the in sandstone, I can't say never, but almost.

Aaarrgghhhh, KLS.

We didn't mean to steal your name. It was actually Brian's idea.... he's into Slayer. Haa haa haa. We kept looking at the big maw and thought it looked like hell.

BLaw, hope to see you soon, man. I'll be back on the West Coast soon (I'm in Florida, now), we should hook up for some vertical fun.

Florida? Damn, that's about as flat as can be, minus the Karst topography. Limestone and them keys. Atlantic stuff... Increase the acidic levels of the oceans by human-generated pollution and that place will be gone. Passive continental margins... Ho hum.

Dude, get back here to solid Earth!!!
