Seven degrees Fahrenheit in the valley right now... I tried climbing Braille Book in twenty degrees once. That lasted all of 12 feet before I bailed! I couldn't tell if my wooden numb-with-cold hands would stay put on solid two-digit crimpers.

Hang in there tough dudes, lots of folks in utter amazement at your tenacity, strength, and skill, blowing the lid off what most mortals can conceive is possible. If more people understood, this would eclipse any sports news of Rose Bowls and such.

It feels like our little secret. I used a link to the story as my New Years Eve salute to humanity.
I stole the headlight photo and wrote the following: ( it's not a climber crowd and I try not to let facts get in the way of a good story. Cheers to you all)

"The Push is On".As you read this, two of the worlds top rock climbers are are on a push to continuously climb the most difficult pure rock climb in the world on Yosemite's El Capitan. The climb ascends what is known as the Dawn Wall and is impossibly long and steep.
In the olden days, if you were lucky, you could stay at the Eiger Nordwand hotel and watch history being made. Think Brad Pitt in Seven Years in Tibet.
Today, we can join these monkeys on Facebook and Adidas and others are helping to promote the climb through vimeos. Luckily for us, Tom from the El Cap Report has made a special winter trip to photojournal the event.
I know that it's just climbing and sport but, in defense, when athletes set new records, break standards and advance the humanly possible then they make us all better as a group. We can each follow our highest calling and greatest joy knowing that we are helping make humanity improve. Follow your dreams. Follow your heart. Your inspirations are the breaths that we need. Thank you all. Best Wishes in the New Year.

Thanks Tom for stepping out and doing this winter report. These guys have put so much effort into this route, one must have nothing but admiration for their tenacity and focus.

Hats off to the lads!
