The Iced Rock Bar is one of the coolest coffee shops I have been in anywhere. Cool vibe, cluttered with neat stuff, and a mean expresso.
Here is proprietor Tang Wei. He knows some ST folks, and I promised that I would post this picture of him.

I have been there and I gave Tang Wei a bottle of bourbon for his collection. The impromptu music that night was fantastic....good vibe for sure.
There are exceptions to my general rule.

A "coffee" shop with benefits. That looks like my kind of place, bourbon for breakfast anyone?

So he's back up? Last time I was there - a while ago now - it was still closed from the 'quake. Looks same as it ever was.
What are you up to there? Lots of unfinished (including some unstarted!) business in that neck of the woods.

He was open a week ago, and very happy to show off his signed bottle.
No climbing for me -- just happened to be in the neighborhood. Lots and lots of rock there, for sure.

It's a very cool hang! Tang Wei makes some great cocktails, check out the one he makes with baileys.
I think Tang Wei told us a story about how one time Dylan Johnson and Chad Kellogg arrived late in the night or early in the morning at his doorstep above the bar. They were shouting and banging on the door looking for Tang Wei... He opened the door, half asleeep and saw these two guys who looked like they were half dead. They'd apparently hiked out after completing their epic climb on Siguniang and needed a beer immediately!
