I was planning on heading to Deer Creek Park in Rocklin today, just to play around bouldering on granite before my Yosemite trip, but of course there was a freak rain storm last night. It's a bit of a drive, so just wanna make sure it's climable before heading out.
Is a day of sunshine usually enough to dry out granite, or does it take longer?

Conditions dependent....what's above it, how steep, sun exposure, weather. With the right conditions it can dry out in minutes.

the degree of weathering of the rock is a big factor in H2O retention in "granite"

If the weather is unsettled, and I'm in the area, granite dries approximately one hour after I leave.

Ganitoids are always wet - some more than others. Ask an igneous petrologist.
