Recently, we've been thinking about switching to t-mobile from at&t, but are worried about how good the coverage may be in places we spend an inordinate amount of time: the valley and the east side. While we are often perfectly happy to shut off the phones, sometimes a trip is only enabled by being able to remain in contact while away.
Anyone with t-mobile care to share their experience?
Thanks!

T-mobile has no service in Yosemite.
T-mobile has no roaming service contract with the AT&T towers in Yosemite.

T-mobile works in Mammoth, but once your are north of Mammoth you don't get service again until Gardenerville.

Copy that. T-mobile didn't work in Yosemite. AT&T did.

Get Ting! It's cheap, awesome and contract free..... and PM me to use me as a reference. We get hooked up if you do that.
Ok, all done with the sales pitch. Back to climbing.

I almost pulled the trigger on T-Mobile when my contract renewal came up this month. No service in yosemite was the deal breaker. Oh well. Next time I renew hopefully they'll have it figured out.

ElAndy, they use sprint or their network, correct? How is the coverage in the valley and east side? The savings look like they'd be good!

They operate on the Sprint network and coverage in the Valley and El Portal is awesome! Haven't had a chance to use it on the Eastside yet. Sorry.
