Dang.... some of this stuff is so old it makes me feel young.

The hammer.... wtf?

And if those Megas were my size I'd be all over it...

Those harnesses should be destroyed, or donated to a museum. They should not be climbed on.

I thought it cool to see gear that old people own which is why I posted this ;). Certainly wouldn't put any of that on my rack (though again... if the mega's fit I'd use those in a heart beat).

That stuff does belong in a museum.

Natures Craigslist link may be gone in 10 min, so here's a copy/paste so anyone searching for "classic gear" in the near future can see what's up. For now.

Fulltext with a photo link:

"Most stoppers/chocks have never been placed, all in like-new condition. Slung stoppers will have webbing or rope cut before delivery as hardware should not be used with old slings. None of the equipment has taken falls other than short falls during top-roped climbing. I will sell this gear ONLY AS A LOT -- you can part it out if you like.

3 Chouinard Hexcentrics, slung not wired, one each size 9, 10, and 11 (11 is rare)
6 Forrest Mountaineering Titons (slung) sizes 6 (2), 7, 8, 9 and 10
9 Forrest Mountaineering Foxheads (wired) 3 sizes, 3 of each size
6 Forrest Mountaineering Arrowheads (wired), looks like 3 each of 2 sizes
6 Forrest Mountaineering Copperheads (wired), looks like 3 each of 2 sizes
7 Wild Country Rocks (wired), sizes 3 through 9
1 Lowe belay/rappel device
1 chalk bag, white and grey chalk
1 pair Lasportiva Evolution shoes (mid-90's) lightly worn, size 44.5 (10 mens?)
1 pair children's climbing shoes, well worn, about size 5 boys
1 Black Diamond padded adult harness, size M
1 Trango child's full body harness (adjustable from 25 to 75 lb body weight), used twice, with bag
3 Forrest basic webbing harnesses, 2 size M, 1 size S
3 Forrest pile padded gear slings, 2 size M, 1 size L
1 Chouinard Skyhook, unused
1 Leeper pry hook
1 Forrest pry hook
1 Forrest Mountaineering Neve ice axe, 70 cm, well used, with leather cover
3 Forrest Mountaineering etriers (webbing ladders for aid climbing), 5 ft. long, used once
14 carbiners (Chouinard, SMC, REI), 2 with screw locking gate, very lightly used
1 "Knots for Mountaineering" book by Phil D. Smith
1 large nylon stuff sack for all (except ice axe)
1 custom chrome-moly stopper placement hammer/nut pick, one-of-a-kind, very lightweight, unused

(Note: will also sell all without the last item above -- the custom hammer - for $400)

Great start to a 70s gear collection. The Forrest gear slings are the only items that catch my eye.
