By no coincidence at all, today is:

1. The day anointed by my ex-S.O. to pick up the U-Haul pickup and begin loading her massive trove of personal possessions for their relocation from my Colorado mountaintop residence (7980 ft. elevation) to her new home in Bend, Oregon - over 1,000 mile drive away.

AND

2. Day one of Winter Storm Cleon, a major weather event creating a cold front and snow from here to Oregon over the foreseeable future. Hint as to severity of the even: how often do Winter Storms get their own name?

AND

3. I promised to help her with this move, including the drive and unload in Bend.

As the sage said, "No good deed will go unpunished."

Ain't love grand!

"Tis better to have loved and lost, than …." ???

Drop her off Terry, feel the load lift. Did you bring your clubs.....a good round, if you find the weather, will help.

@ JohnnyG; Never said I hadn't. As Survival noted it's how I know it when I see it.
And is it unrequited love? I don't think so in this case. Check the definition.

Do you know me? Can you provide an example of my own actions?
Not trying to start an argument or another bickering session here. Just curious.

Storm may be on the horizon, but by the sounds of it your future is bright.

Jim:

Yeah, packing the clubs for the trip to Bend. In fact, I'm packing the harness, shoes and lid and plan to climb at Smith Rock, weather permitting.

The rest of the return voyage will be a ride on Amtrak down the coast with stops to see friends and relatives in S.F., Santa Cruz and San Diego, then to Phoenix to see daughter before returning to Mancos long enough to get into the '83 Toyota Land Cruiser, packed with stuff for the ski season, which I will spend in Taos.

Worry not, much play on the horizon. Summer in the Winds with llamas and climbers for Aug/Sept. Maybe Nepal in the fall for teahouse trekking.

Harness and lid are a better idea than clubs. There was snow in Bend yesterday, but there are almost always sunny stones at Smith. Time better spent, IMO.
