This weekend is was super smokey around the shuteye area do to a fire in the area, the forest service had closed beasore rd just past the jones store and minarets rd, so we climbed on the west side of the ridge, once we were about 6000 feet up, the smoke was not and issue, but in oakhurst is was super smokey, so we headed up to chilkoot, it has a couple super fun small domes to climb on, half day dome has some fun short routes on it with the shuteye classic plates holds on it, routes run from 5.10a to 5.12a and with the lake only mins away from the dome makes it a great place to have lunch and go do a couple climbs for a half day of fun, if you get a chance, check it out, happy climbing mike a.
