4 day weekend. load up the pup and head to the needles!
3 mile hike to and from the crag keeps you fit.
day1: the howling, airy interlude (shown here), guerilla warfare
day2: don juan (left side), trade winds
day3: atlantis (right side)
1st pitch of don juan
pitch 2 of don juan (crux)
gnarly rap anchor!
superb bouldering everywhere.
overall, totally blown away by the place. dare i say better rock than the valley??

awesome TR. Thanks!
only one question: that sissy-looking pack dude has on in the second photo: does it hold more than three beers?

i think the granite there is definitely better...much more positive than valley granite...not nearly as many routes...however, the quality of the routes is remarkable!
what a rad tic list! sounds like you'll be back!

nature, that wuss mini-haulbag would hold a sixer, but that's about it. the needles beta is to stash your rope and rack out at the crag, then just hike out with water and food.

yeah, stash gear in the witch/charlatan saddle.
remember its forest service land so you can mountain bike the 2.5 mile trail into the base of the magician too!
the biking gets rough up the switch backs.
