I can't seem to find an official Petzl press release, but lots of caving websites are announcing this and users in forums have supposedly confirmed this with vendors. Does anyone have more info?

Yes, I've heard the same thing.

It is far and away the best caving helmet ever made. You can stuff your balaclava and tube scarf under the suspension straps for instance warmth when you get cold.

Because of the wheels on the suspension system, when they get muddy and sandy underground, they eventually lose their grip and start to slip. So these helmets don't last long for active cavers.

If you like it, you'd best grab a couple where you can. Anyone find any good deals on these things? I would buy another one or two.

I don't think gear manufactures tend to do press releases when they discontinue things?

I heard that the molds finally broke/wore out and it wouldn't be cost effective to have new ones made. Can't say i'll miss it...at least for my use a foam helmet is so much nicer.

Hey Pete,

You should leave the space between the suspension and the helmet empty, so the helmet can function as it was designed.

Not as soft as air.

It's the only climbing helmet I've ever bought. They were too durable. No $$ to be made from products that don't break and need to be replaced.
