Yikes! Just ended a marathon 6 day 24 fest. I bought myself the first season and "couldn't put it down".
Great concept. Wonder how they'll be able to keep it up for the second season. Does the painful "cliffhanger after cliffhanger" nature of the series get old?
Side note: Kiefer and the fellow who played David Palmer, Dennis Haysbert, carried the show. I thought most of the rest of the cast was a bit weak.

Season 5 isn't yet on DVD, but it is on iTunes. That's how I watched it.
Saw seasons 1 & 2 on DVD.
Haven't decided if I want to tape season 6 or buy it from iTunes.
Costs more to buy, but it's kind of nice to be able to do a marathon viewing...

I love that show. This season was the best so far. I can't believe I have to wait til January for more. It's a very addicting show. I've seen every ep of every season except for S3. Four was great and I didn't think they could top it but this season was one shocker after another.
DVD's of this show are a very dangerous thing. Twice I've sat down with friends to watch some and next thing we know, 4-6 hours of our life are gone and we STILL don't want to turn it off. Even though we already know what happens, watching 24 eps back to back like that is still an adrenaline rush.

Okay, I edited out the original post with anything spoiler-ish.
I figure every 24 fan saw this season! My bad. I keep forgetting the ripple effect the DVD's are having in drawing people to the show that didn't see it on it's Fox run.
Oh, in 24 news, it got the most Emmy nom's today of any other drama (11 total). Best drama nod for the show, lead actor nom for Kiefer, supporting nom's for Jean Smart (Martha Logan) and Gregory Itzen (President Logan). Good to see their talent and efforts rewarded by their peers.
