only snow i saw last weekend near cliffs was at the base of north facing formations, i.e. base of half dome was loaded with snow still.

Just got off ten days after this morning, it was dry and so was the prow. Multiple parties were sending south face, and there was even a fixed line with parties minitraxioning the enduro corner of astroman. Pretty prime weather too.

Robert, Always wondered, does "l" stand for Leroy? Im trying to get to Valley in two weeks for some trad climbing. Also recently took up aid climbing and invited to do Wash Col on threeman team in fall. I'll want all your beta. Hugs and kisses to your Fin princess!!! See ya there maybe... Alisa:)

That fixed line has been on Astroman for a few years, if it's the one we encountered in 04. IF I remember correctly it was stretched really tight.
It came in handy when my partner took a nice leader fall right before he hit the 5.9 section at the top of the enduro corner. It was really hot that morning.
That day was a classic climbing day in the valley! He was so pooped from his great lead that he puked!
The problem is that the route is overhanging and he hung directly over the belay. You can guess where the spew landed. Right on top of us!
Man, if someone could of caught that on film, it would've made the cover of climbing mag! El cap pics, where were you that day?
