I'm going to be on a road trip in California in from late Aug to late Oct. Hoping to go to Tuolomne, the Needles and the High Sierra in Aug/Sept, then planning to be in Yosemite from around 15 Sept for about a month.

As well as generally looking for climbing partners, I'm keen to do a big wall. Ideally I'd like to do the Nose, Zodiac or Tangerine Trip, but I'm also interested in Half Dome, Washington Column, Lost Arrow Spire etc.

I climb around mid 5.10s, currently learning to aid climb and have plenty of kit - rack, aiders, ledge, etc. I'm in my late 30s, live in London and can hold a reasonable conversation, wash regularly, etc etc.

Do you speak English? BWA HA HA hahahahaaaa!!!

I hope you have great trip. Lots of people here to link up with in one way or another. If you visit the "Ready For Facelift Camping Requests" thread, you'll see that a LOT of people from this forum will be in Yosemite for the last week of September. It's the annual clean-up of Yosemite, sponsored by climbers. Great place to meet old school Yosemite types.

I live in the Auburn area, not too far from Donner Summit and Lovers Leap, if you manage to get this far north.

You can PM through my supertopo account if you like. Best of luck on a successful trip!

Hi Sean - When do you arrive in the States? Where are you flying in to? Are you planning on renting a car for the duration of your stay so you can get from place to place?

I'm not a candidate for a wall partner (the Horror! the Horror!) but some Tuolumne/High Sierra stuff might work out late August...

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

I'm arriving in LA on 21 August, hiring a car for the duration of my trip and open to climbing anywhere in CA - not bothered about going much further afield. I've been to the US before and know how vast your country is.

Let us know when you plan to be in LA and we'll set up a weenie-roast in your honor at Stoney Point.

You can meet the locals and grovel in the dirt.

Always looking for an excuse to party.

Thanks Duncan!

Just an update - I'll be driving up from LA to Tuolomne or similar on Thrs 23 August, going to be meeting a friend in Merced on Wed 29th August, so I'm looking for a partner for just under a week. Happy to do pretty much anything... even getting burned off at Stoney Point (maybe!).

After 24 Sept my climbing partner will be off so I'll be looking for people to climb with from then.

And here is a Monday bump for Sean, to add to the other visitors on the first page who are looking for partners.
I had hoped I might be able to showcase the best of the Meadows to him, but my schedule has changed. Hope there's someone out there who he can partner up with.
