This thread is a spinoff of the Ruby Mountain one, Silver and Ron A. got my interest peaked and started doing a little research. Looks like some good adventure.

Any tales?

Ammon now drools,, seeing ENDLESS possiblities of climbs, jumps and wilderness adventure.;-D

You got me pegged Ron, ha haa.

Legal climbing and jumping seems abundant in Nevada. We should hook up for an adventure when you get some time.

You're in MY backyard now, ya friggin' pirate.
Give me a call & we'll wander the Owyhee Canyons. That's where we send Hawaiians to die. Apparently.

Ezra: Thanks for the prompt!

I have repeatedly rafted the lower Bruneau River, and have rafted the middle Owyhee from Rome to Owyhee Reservoir.

I have also explored the roads around the upper Jarbidge & Bruneau Rivers.

Choss!

All is volcanic rock, and none inspired me for climbing.

Plenty of cliffs to dive off, but I don’t want to climb on them.

I suspect you can find some climbing info on Leslie Gulch, which drains into Owyhee Reservoir.

Choss.

Here’s the two stories on the area I have posted on ST:

BIG Water on the Bruneau! A rafting epic.

I saw Dan McDivitt post some pictures of kayaking that with Walt Shipley.

Posted around here someplace.

I have always wanted to go check that place out. Pretty wild country, but reasonably close to Idaho cities. A little too close to town for my taste.

Tell Clyde Dallas that. It's plenty Wild.
There are jewels amongst the choss, as everywhere. Jewels. As your perspective allows you to see them.

no pics of Leslie Gulch, wtf, over?

nice spires down there, but it think it is a park so that means no climbing choss spires, correct?
found out about it in Back Roads of Oregon, Earl Thollander,

earl has turned me onto so many cool roads in ca and ore, you guys should check out Back Roads of California also, be careful, some of the raods now lead thru meth lab infested areas,

favorites are the road to Idria, Tyler Foote crossing, the Saline Valley, anza borrego, and just about any back road in oregon is cool, heck most of the front roads are cool, except for i-5,

The Owyhees are a special place, but far from secret. Just far from sources of artificial, well, anything.

Leslie Gulch has plenty of chipped holds and a ban on bolting.

Easy access to a sampler can be found at Reynolds Creek Canyon near the Wilson Creek trailhead. You can probably find something to jump off there.
