WB. Not often listed on ebay. Here's an early ad from Mountain for the skinny solid one, which I think the fat hollow one preceeded by a little while.
It does mention the Robbins Hollow carabiner at the bottom.
As you know: Robbins sold those through his importing company Mountain Paraphernalia. Here is the link to the ST thread on its history.

Thanks Fritz
I know about these biners since Dale Bard had a whole El Cap rack of these back in the day.
We did an El Cap nail up using these biners and the weight difference was huge.
I guess I'm gonna start the eBay auction at $25 each since they are so rare?

Still use em' for racking nuts, cameras etc.
I've got some of the D style and some of the ovals, but the ovals are Chounard not Robins.

I still have a few of the old hollow ones. As I remember the gates on mine seem to stick sooner than other biners of the day. They were lighter.

how bad is smoking an aluminum pipe?
The combination of dope (x2) plus aluminum seems unlikely to have positive results.
So do the Robbins biners - I have a few around - have all the other kinds beaten hollow?

Herr Braun. A little marketing tip. Sign each one, advertize them as autographed and start the bidding at $250.00 each or three for a $1000.00. Some stupid American will buy them.
