Well it's still snowing here in Hailey... but I'm trying to get it together for spring. I have some Aliens with broken trigger cables near the head. I have a feeling CCH is backlogged until the next presidential election cycle, and Bernie is far far away. What do people in the Rockies do with their broken cams?

Call CCH and have them repair them - I suspect you'll have better luck now that they aren't attempting to service big box retailers...

You could always try the mountain shop in the Valley.

If the solid wire part is ok, you can get everything you need at the hardware store cheaper than you can mail them off. Maybe a little tougher if you have some orange or bigger with the 4 pieces of cable rather than 2.

If you need to replace a solid wire, be really careful to not break it off right where it goes into the cam.

I have a blue that is worthless, because the wire got stuck and broke off. There's nothing to grab, and I'd have to take the whole thing apart to try to drift the wire stub out with a punch.

Recently sent one of my aliens in for repair of trigger cables.
Got it back one month later. No charge for repair and CCH paid return shipping. One satisfied customer.

Tom, use a vice & a drill! I think those Damn cables are actually glued in.

Susan - I've tried that. The drill wobbles off to the side, to avoid the hard steel in favor of the soft aluminum. Part of the problem also is that the face of the cam has been mashed down a bit, pinching the wire.
