This really works.

It's not for everyone, but major abdominal surgery, with large transverse incisions, will kill the nerves that serve the fat cels taht commonly mkae the 'spare tire', and 'pot belly', that climbers find so awful.

Given that many people these says, especially the young, willingly pierce their bodies in all sorts of useless ways, I am thinking, why not ritual scarification ( you don't ahve to penetrate the muscle wall of the abdomen for this technique to work) with an added benefit?

The down time would not be too long, and the risk of infection is not very great, if you are clean and use a lot of soap and water, and a little lye in the wounds to cleanse them properly.

You could even do this all by yourself, if you have a strong tolerence for pain and a sharp knife, and you can sew just a little. NO need for expensive doctors, who would probably refuse such a procedure, even though cosmetic surgery is performed all the time. What do doctors know anyway?

One additional benefit is that those disturbed people known as 'cutters' could find a new purpose in their affliction, and put it to good use, as a weight loss plan as well as a stress reliever!

This really will work, and don't let anyone tell you differently. I've experienced the effects first hand.

Good luck with your custom self crash weight loss program, and happy scarring!

Well, if you can't get over the idea of lye, for preventing infection, use a big box of salt instead.

Good luck and please post on how it goes, and if you are happy with the results!

I'm thinking of submitting this to one of the climbing rags, as soon as enough people have done it to work out any kinks.

Hey Dirtiney, I will agree with you to some extent as my abdomen looks like a freeway map of Utah stretched over a six pack. I do alot of sit ups, crunches and other excercises as per the physical therapist but if I could be "put under" for just one more time and not have to work out... hmm.
I've always used a strong shower cleaner on the incisions, it doesn't sting as much and it smells kind of nice. All the hot chicks just love those scars. I wonder what Ouch has to say about this?

I prefer the old fashioned method of weight loss...

Run, bike and swim (and climb) constantly. Eat and drink like a pig and still lose weight...

F'ueco,

ANYBODY can do it that way.

Besides, this way is much faster.

In high school, I had surgery to fix a hernia. I was already a skinny dude, at 6'1" and just under a buck thirty, but the surgery and the medicine left me without an appetite for the next two or three weeks.

I weighed in at 110 when I went back to school.
