One of the victims was a local climber.
One of the accomplices already in custody has admitted the plan was to use the victims as human shields in order to enter the nearby compound of a third party, rob him as well, and then kill all of them to shut them up!
It was the climber that managed to wriggle free of his bonds causing the plan to derail.

I would have thought the attempted murder of another southern Utah climber would generate discussion.
Anyway, heads up survival. He is supposed to be in NM.

WTF? The story in the article is pretty obtuse. But if I see Ulises up here I'll be sure to sic the Sheriff on the dead body.

In his case, I'd suggest 4 to the ass and one to the head.

Screw you, one of the victims is a friend, as are many residents of Norwood.
He came close to being killed by this trash.
(BTW, Norwood has the highest per capita in the US for Everest summiters)

It was a legal grow operation.
The San Miguel County Sheriff has been very stand up about this. These are tax paying citizens. It is not a case of criminal rivalry.

Omar Felix was captured attempting to enter Mexico.
They are all in the Greybar now.
A friend of mine from the shooting community that is employed by a company similar to Blackwater in western Colorado now has a contract for providing security at an indoor grow op.
He says that the owner, who had been burglarized once, figured that a good plant yielding multiple crops could gross him $.5M
Hard for me to believe, but even if exaggerated it indicates how serious the potential for motivating criminal activity is.

I suppose that lately "poseurs" would seem likely, but I'm talking more about actual guides rather than poseur clients.
Take it easy on Rodger. He's a good sort Marc. You have to make allowances for people in Wyoming considering the cultural context.
