Holy cow, what a nice surprise!
I got home from a few days in the mountains last night just in time to go out for a nice dinner with my spectucular wife, the one and only UberBabs. Today I'm just lounging around and stretching my aging body back into alignment after the usual abuse those mountains can deliver.
I will say that I feel pretty good for being 58 with some hard miles. The truth is that for most of my life I never really looked past the barrier of 50, it seemed abstract like reading 1984 in high school. Now, with that barrier long past (and a scary medical scenario) my life is entirely about health and fitness.
Edit: Mine and other folks as well...

Y'All are great. Thanks!
Hope that you have an awesome day and also a bountiful year full of good blessings and cheer.
I'm off to a good start, as it has been an awesome day. "a bountiful year full of good blessings and cheer" is a great goal. I'll do my best.
Sadly I learned a few hours ago that my Father, whom I visited at his home in Connecticut on his 85th (two weeks ago) has had a sudden crisis and may not make it through the night. This is the stuff that puts everything in perspective and helps me to appreciate the great blessings I have.

Happy Birthday, Kris!
We've never met but I so much enjoy your contributions to the Forum. I think one of my favorite Forum photos is a picture of you on a 5.13 slab climb. Mind-boggling!
I turned 59 a few weeks ago, and like you, I feel pretty (surprisingly?) fit. The passion for climbing is the thing that keeps me working at it (general fitness). Most of my climbing partners are younger that me, and have so much energy. They keep me motivated to keep up. Isn't that a wonderful gift?
Hope to run into you at the crags someday.
