I think I'll pour myself some Don Eduardo Anejo in honor of the event.

What sutpid moran would pick the middle of winter to celebrate a drink best enjoyed under a blazing hot summer sky?

Must be some prick who works for Carnival Cruises I suspect.

I wonder if Sammy Hagar had something to do with this.

I saw this on seriouseats (http://www.seriouseats.com/2011/02/how-to-celebrate-national-margarita-day-february-22.html a most excellent website if you like food of any sort) and was spurred to pick up some tequila and triple sec on my way home from school. Usually, on my student budget, I go for Hornitos blanco for my margarita purposes, as it is the least expensive 100% agave I have found around here at $24.99/750ml but today I saw Lunazul at $16.99 and decided to give it ago. Wow! What a crazy good deal! I definitely find it tastier than the Hornitos, less of an alcohol bite, little bit pepperier on the finish, totally beyond acceptable in a margarita. I'd recommend anyone to check it out; at $16.99 a bottle it's not going to set you back too much if you hate it, and you might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

PS my margaritas rocked tonight - approximately 1.5oz tequila, 1oz triple sec, juice of 1/2 lime and 1/2 temple orange (those f#*kers are JUICY!!! tart little celementine/orange hybrid) and a dollop of agave. Awesomeness in a glass. Too bad it's still in the single digits outside.
