This world-class site has come up a bunch on Supertopo before. Here, better yet, go to the real sources:
http://www.yosemite-17-gigapixels.com/ElCapitanDeepZoom.htm
Or any other other vantages points: Glacier Point; Yosemite Falls; El Cap; Taft Point
You can click on “view in Zoomify” or “view in HD view SL” when “in” each vantage point. (SL=this is Silverlight, a MS plugin that may or may not start up or be available to your system. Zoomify will always in my experience)
Xrez is a very similar site, starting with a map of all the vantage points where these gigantor composite images where shot:
http://www.xrez.com/yose_proj/yose_deepzoom/index.html
Pick the vantage point you want, then keep zooming in with it in the middle of your screen and you will see how the blue pie-shape becomes a picture of your shot, keep zooming with your picture centered and then you will have the shot and able to go way way into tiny detail. I am seeing actual important larger holds on the Nose for example. I know, it is a funky GUI, this, but it works.

Way cool.
Peter- Check out the descent on Steck Salathe. Check out "God's Thumbs Up", too. (at Union Point vantage point)
Climbers of the future have it so easy. Dang.

Semper-
Did you figure it out? Easy. Just scroll "into" the thumbnail sized panorama and then drag around. Voila.
.....
Esp easy for me right away as I already had Silverlite because I'm a netflix user.
Awesome.

Anybody know how to contact the El Cap 17 gig photo's author? I would love to know what date that photo was taken. If you were on the wall at the time, you would certainly be able to see yourself.

Hey buddy, thanks for finding me!
I'm sitting in my Crab-O-Ledge high on PO Wall after having climbed South Seas to get there. That's the Highbrow Bivi I believe, and my partner Minnesota Mark aka Mawk on McTopo is leading the pitch above, although he is only barely and blurrily visible.
Remind me I owe you some beers on the bridge for this, eh?
Many thanks,
Pete
