I'm just getting ready to go out to a house party. I haven't gotten drunk, or even ingested alcohol, in nearly 9 years, and the party will be clean. So, instead of a bottle of wine....I've got a box of mini Italian pastries to contribute.
I know it will be fun, but the truth is.....it's not going to be FUN, fun. The kind of fun I know I would be having were I sitting around a campfire on New Year's Eve after a day out climbing; where the laughs and hijynx are ten times more hilarious than any drunken rabble-rouser memories I can actually rememeber, or watching people get blotto at the Intersection Rock party....
But, what are ya gonna do.
So. Here's to a happy end of 2005 and wishes for the best to come in 2006!

i stopped greeting the new year with a hangover many years ago.
now it's family, friends and dreams of a bright future.
