Thank you to everyone who has posted condolences and remembrances about Joe. As his brother-in-law I can tell you that I and the rest of his family read and appreciate every post.

Many people have been interested in making a donation to help us with the cost of bringing Joe back home. We have set up a donation fund on Joe's blog if you would like to contribute. http://climbtibet.blogspot.com/

Thank you again.

Another way to help the Puryear family for many years to come is to purchase some of Joe's magnificent photographs which is easy to do online.

I am of course drawn to his photos of the Rolwaling Valley in Nepal, which I have studied for the past 35 years and this site will lead you to other mountain photos from around the world.

I believe that is because this is primarily an informational thread about how to help with donations, which I believe many readers are getting that information and doing so. I would like to believe his sponsors are helping too. Mountaineers, the last of the exquisite athletes/souls that are driven solely by passion and an unknowable driving quest with only personal and spiritual rewards.

There is another thread about his death that has many moving rememberances and condolescences which seems to have fresh posts every day. He is remembered and mourned deeply.
