Heal up, Lad! I hate to think about going down that trail on crutches. Yikes. Props on getting yourself out under your own horsepower.

OOOoouch!

Too bad you didn't have a BASE rig to avoid the hike down.

I hope you had a well stocked first aid kit!

On the summit I let him know that I probably didn’t have Watkins in me that night.
A masterful understatement.

Nice chatting with you in the cafeteria, Dave, and heal up soon! And a stout effort on the self-rescue, even if the YOSAR guys are still grumbling about being deprived of a little work. Maybe if they paid you a finder's fee or commission or something...

Ron means the Doug Scott award, for his crawl down from the Ogre with two broken legs alongside Chris Bonington, who spells his surname with only two N's.

Anyway, Dave, from one Frankenankle to another, hang in there. This too will pass, and one day you will walk again soon.

Look at the benefit - you now have all this extra time to hang out on the bridge and drink beers with us! I'm in Yos. now, so drop me a line via McTopo if you feel like hanging tomorrow.

Cheers and beers,
Pete

In the end, it turns out that those little tags that come on new climbing gear were in fact correct- Climbing is dangerous!

classic!

You're a tougher man than I Dave. Don't let the down time get to you. Start posting more pics of trips!!

Wow, what a TR.

Can't imagine doing all the hiking that would be involved in a triple link-up let alone all the climbing involved. Glad that your OK, and will be able to climb another day.

Thanks for the report. Some might have wanted to brush it under the rug. You made me think and I will err on the side of caution next time out cause climbing, like life, is dangerous.

Just had a friend take an unexpected and completely unanticipated fall. Still trying to figure out why. If the little voice says think about it....yeah, give it some deep thought before proceeding.

Peace and a Speedy recovery. lynne

That little voice, it's like having the robot from lost space in a tiny corner of your mind, watching out for you; "danger Will robinson"

And cragman, hoh Man! That's almost like hiking out of the black, and with a busted hibijibi bone , to boot!

I remember having to walk off the top of the captian with a ruptured achilles tendon, in time to beat a coming storm. Ouch

Howz it feeling now? Did you have it checked? I didn't realize my achilles was totally torn until three weeks later when the wishful thinking wore off and it didn't improve much

Peace

Smoley hokes. Just the crutches descent must have been insane.

Great TR just the same, and I look forward to reading your triple link-up soon.
