It is at about -4.6 now, about the brightest it ever gets.
Dec 9 is max.

Its a real treat to see Venus with the naked eye during the day. Look from the shadow of a building. Do not look at the sun with any optical instrument.

I saw Venus about 2:30 pm today from Northridge, stood in the shadow of a tall building. Found the crescent moon first, Venus was off to the west about 5 deg. Tomorrow Venus will be right next to the crescent moon so it will be easier to find.

Really cool to see a planet in broad daylight.

Thanksgiving night we had our telescope on it. It was eclipsed by the moon. Pretty awesome!

Venus is the evening star.

Jupiter is the morning star.

That's not Venus; it's a UFO. Common mistake.
