Like back in the day, in the beginning...

You can substitute his name for anyone who climbed from the 30's to the 60's...

hmmm...others can say better than i, but my dad used to rack gear without any tactical strategy. everything just got hung off the sling like you were carrying some tools out to fix the car...this was the same with rowell, who climbed with harding...old school was "commitment before equipment" as i think george lowe said...

a single shoulder sling; little stuff in the front with free biners in front of that; bigger stuff towards the back with runners and aid slings behind that.

Park Rat... I think that (first pic) is the first shot I have ever seen of Warren free climbing!

Ihateplastic,

Warren Harding free climbing I think not!

Harding's take on that picture would have been,

"Harding between a rock & a hard place."

We all know Harding did not free climb.

OK I am just kidding, it seems he did a lot of stuff that went under the radar,

his ability to free climb is just one example.
