Ken Klopfer of East Hartland was a beloved member of the Connecticut climbing community. He came to climbing late in life, but made up for lost time with some wonderful adventures in the mountains with his many friends.

Thank you. It really means a lot. Ken was a solid friend and partner who any climber would be psyched to tie in with.

Morgan, great article, thank you for posting.. Ken was a very good friend, partner and a great mentor for many in East Cost. He was the best teacher ever who cared about people. We are missing him deeply.

Morgan,
Thanks for the post. I never met anyone with more love for outdoor adventures than Ken. Whether it was hiking, mountaineering, climbing or canoeing he approached all with a passion rarely seen. I was a pleasure and honor to have climbed with him over the past few years and he will always be with us in spirit.

Rock, ice, glaciers.... Ken was solid and safe and loads of fun to be around. It was a privilege to know and climb with him. I can only wish that everyone should be fortunate enough to meet someone like Ken. His friends miss him dearly.
