Is this a golden eagle? Just saw two this weekend on a recent kill next to the road. Amazing stuff.

On ST I expected a picture of W. Good job having a camera available when a shot like this presents itself.

That indeed is a Golden Eagle. Impressive eh Mungie?

Saw two swoop overhead at Squarenail once...heard the swoosh before I saw them. Big!!

Nice 'grab' of a Golden.
In Central Asia they are called Berkuts and are
traditionally used in falconry to hunt wolves!

ps
I refrained from clicking on this thread in the
mistaken belief it was political - lol. That's a
sad statement on the state of the Taco, isn't it?

Definitely a golden eagle (which are more dark than golden). Cool shots!

This thread is a disappointment.

I was hoping for some campfire chicken goodness.

Would a side order of squirrel help?

Reilly,

that's a solid shot there.

Chaz, seat of my pants? nah, just out the window. :)

Strider, yeah, caffeinated on the drive home, which means no sleep. Worthy trip though.

Neat! I saw one bag a squirrel right in front of me years ago in camp 6.
