Hi Everyone, my friends are up on Aconcagua and we've had no news since the earthquake. Am desperately seeking valid resources to learn any news of climbers on Polish or Normal routes. thanks

I've been googling and trying to look up phone numbers all day. My brother descended with HAPE on TH and flew home. He said if they stayed on track then Saturday was a rest day at Camp One (Polish Traverse). He thought they might be in a relatively safe location, but no-one has gotten any word.

Please pass my request along to any knowledgeable climbing friends to see if they have any ideas.

Climbers have a sat phone but I don't have number and can't reach anyone who does have it.

yes... one climber's wife and the other climber's girlfriend... I have not been able to reach either. Called brother of one climber and he was getting info fr the girlfriend... he didn't have number b/c he didn't think he'd need to get it. Will check back here throughout day and post anything I learn.

I was suppose to go with them but couldn't get away from firefighter training for three weeks... never thought being grounded would be a good thing.

my brother is getting home today. His climbing stuff was dropped at his house and he didn't think to bring the number with him... who would have thought there'd be an earthquake and he'd need it???

Wife and kids took off for weekend not expecting him to be coming home ahead of schedule and she left the number at the house thinking that he'd call her from the mountain to check in (so why take the number... you know?)

The inability to communicate would be funny if the situation weren't so serious...
