Man. Just got in from a trip to "fire crags" on painted caves road off the 154 down here in SB. I don't think I have EVER groveled like that on moderates. I swear to god, I was so pissed at myself, the rock, the universe, my partner, buddha...
I climbed "black crack". 5.9....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!
Maybe if you're SMOKING black crack...
but it's good if you want to practice for Lord Caffeine, heh.
I think I just suck, not having climbed on sandstone, not having climbed in over a month, and not being any good to begin with.
Gonna check out gibralter sometime soon, and see what it's about.

Where's the aid ladder there? We went to the "upper" boulder.
It seemed like every climb could be an "aid ladder". Those bolts for the most part were pretty close...but I guess my summer in tuolumne...tainted...me.
However, I did like how the first bolt for "black crack", and "movin'out" were kinda far off the ground. Made that first clip kinda spicy...
"europe revisited", "tester"(man! 5.9? whatever...I sound like such a whiner, but I've never been so sandbagged), "short shot", "bent brain", "Grib dat hole" were all good climbs, I dug 'em.

Just went and checked out Gibralter yesterday. Now that is what I'm talkin' about! The .10s are sweet! I'm gonna start leading .11s the next time I go out-(I've only followed that grade).
Very excited, and the rock quality is sooo much better than at fire crags, makes me un afraid to CRANK
