you probaly dont remember me introducing myself to you at bachars memorial. you were polite enough.i thanked you for writing it all down. for erecting a framework for myself and others to marvel at forever. you gave all the credit to the rest of the crew."those guys did some amazing things too" you said. fair enough.
i just put the stonemasters book down after basicaly reading it in one sitting. sure i read a bunch of those stories over the years. but that doesnt make it a bit less magical.
thanks to you and everyone for the documentation. your lives...our lives are nothing short of miraculous. well done man.

So many good works. I remember the first thing of John's I ever read, a little article about bouldering around Idylwild. I thought, wow that guy can write. When I later saw Royal and asked him if he had seen it, he said that he had, and wondered how they had found all those boulders. He then went on to mention that he had met John and his girlfriend Lynn, saying that she was really a good climber, but not as good as John of course.
