Haha well. I joined the conga line and climbed the nose over memorial day weekend. Actually wasn't that crowded aside from several NIAD parties, but they flew past without incident. My first big wall, and I believe first successful big wall for my partner.
Lots of stories as well that I'd like to write down at some point, but I like making videos. Plus the video is a much more effective tool for explaining what I did to my non-climbing friends who asked "oh how was your hiking trip?"

That was pretty fun. I liked the face-over on the King Swing. It would have been fun getting the contrails of the NIAD people going by too. I liked the relaxing music......whilst sitting in my armchair.

It was actually pretty fun seeing the NIAD parties, they were all laughs and good vibes and looked like they were having a blast. Pretty inspiring. Well aside from the team that crawled over us around midnight at Camp V. They looked like they were probably going to be stretching the limits of "in a day" and seemed somewhat miserable but still determined. NIAD is definitely a goal for the future but it reinforced my idea that I'd like to aim for more like 16 hours vs 26 hours.

Nice to see a video of normal climbers. All of the clips of superheroes these days makes one feel inadequate.
I have not been to Yosemite for a number of years now and am surprised to see the forests in such bad shape. Is it that grim all over?

Ditto AND ditto about the trees. Maybe it will keep raining for awhile. I can't believe Nathanael didn't take a fly for the ledge. Did you at least have Blue Cagoules? You could have ended up as a member of the Cult of the Blue Cojones instead.

LOL yea we were certainly advised against omitting the fly but didn't want to buy one and also didn't want to haul one. We had some decently beefy bivy sacks so I think we would survive, but sitting out 2+ days of rain in bivy sacks was sounding pretty bad. Very very thankful the forecast changed in our favor.

Thanks all!
The 3D imagery is from Google Earth, actually it's from their new in-browser version which is pretty slick. Just go to earth.google.com and you can do all that stuff without even downloading anything.
Really the downloaded app would have been superior since it has more extensive camera controls, like you can set several points and have it automatically pan the camera for a aerial "tour". But for some reason the app didn't have the full high resolution details on the wall itself, so I used the online version instead.

Awesome job on the send! I liked the video. For what its worth though, those bivy sacks would have been pretty useless in a storm. You won't believe it until you're caught up there but once you've been in a storm up there you won't leave the fly behind.
