Trip Report
Three Men and a Rubber Ducky on the Evolution Traverse in Winter
Sunday March 18, 2012 4:17pm
Evolution Traverse in Winter, the numbers: 9 13,000' peaks, 3 Pullharder dudes and a rubber duck, 4 days on route, 7 days overall.
This is the first of the Big Sierra Technical Traverses to be completed in Winter (though of course the whole range has been traversed by skis on less technical terrain). Evolution is also usually regarded as having the highest quality climbing amongst the big traverses.
NB There may be similarities but Ducky is no Cheburashka knockoff; he even leads pitches...
In any case now the Evolution in Winter Trip Report, not just the summary, is finally up. Pics, commentary, videos, the TR and even a 3-D flythrough are at: Pullharder.org

1) You absolutely are interrupting the spray orgy.
2) You are absolutely right! Michelle is a boss! She sent the crap out of it last summer

Hi Toad, I think you mean Michelle Peot, yes, she was the first female ascent of the Evo Traverse, last Summer (TR here). Peter Croft (FA), Alex Honnold, Matt Samet, Vic Lawson, and possibly others have also done it solo (I guess you could call this ropeless depending; most people do rappels), amongst 15 or so complete ascents of the route in summer.

Wish you all to continue kicking ass! Well done! Must be stressful for all to spent so much time in less than ideal conditions with the weather and all.

Thanks for the positive words, everyone. For those of you who liked the TR or if you are further interested in reading musings on Sierra Winter Climbing/ Evolution Traverse, I put some additional thoughts on the topics on my most recent post on my personal blog. Likely not as much of interest as dropping your toothbrush or kicking dogs, but anyway, someone may get something out of it. It's here. Yes it's lame to bump your own post, but I thought it less obnoxious than starting another thread....
