Next up we drove down to the Grand Canyon. Having visited it a number of times we had never hiked to the floor. No time like the present.

South Kaibab to Bright Angel, 17.5 miles, 14 hours.

I had promised Vanessa a little R&R after the hikes so we headed to Sedona and some vortex hunting. Not really, we just hung by the hotel pool and ate good food for the most part. We did however take a stroll to the Cathedral and check out the Mace.

And this brings me to the only remotely on topic content...A couple of pics of the last time I was in Sedona some 35 years prior.

I was thinking this would be in a prairie somewhere, what with the barley and all ;)

I hope those nice spots are in my future! Thanks for the pics.

Nice TR Marty.

Makes one a wee bit thirsty to look at this, time for a brewski to celebrate Marty and Vanessa's jaunt into the canyon and out.

Nice report.

Would recommend the Left Fork of North Creek (aka "The Subway") the next time you are in Zion park. It is awesome...as is Orderville canyon, which you passed on your way down the Narrows...so many fun canyons in that park.

With the dudes above - Vanessa's a beauty!
Sweet canyon pics, too, and the BITD shots (nice mane!).

I assume one checks the wx before committing to the streambed in such a canyon trip?
