Secret Wall.. off Highway 50 /near Desolation Wilderness
Wednesday January 11, 2017 10:49am
Great place to climb . From overhangs ,jam cracks to face. Around 90 ft. tall and 275 ft. long . Tim Camuti and I put in top anchors on the main section to our first route here . No name yet [5.9 ] .Now a large tree fell on them covering them up . To get there go north of Wrights Lake to a large meadow by existing trail . Its about 3 mikes up or you can google land map and see it .The trail goes along the west side of the meadow ,then continue a very short walk and you will be at the base .This place is one of the best places I have ever found .You can also mnt. bike ride there too .

Looks nice. Probably under 6ft of snow by now. Someone should snowshoe in and bag the first winter ascent.

Don't take it too personal, Dingus. I used to cut firewood and climb with him a long time ago. I kinda fell out with him cutting firewood, but that was sorta all in my head. He's a bit thorny but really a good guy.

Yes Bob is right .. I get my feathers ruffled sometimes , wishing you all the best in climbing . Im getting older and just want to turn climbers on to some new places in and around her . I will be posting more later but need to dig up some pics and take some shots of what we found here ,Shout out to Don Garrett for helping me get in some new places too awhile back . The route [ no name yet ] starts near at the right side of the buttress facing it ,with a 20 ft. off size chimney .Then to a ledge to a 20 ft. finger crack. then the rest of the way with face moves. This route is right under the tree that fell at the base and is at least 160 ft, tall.

I think you're a good sort, DMT (note: consider the source).

Can't please everybody. A lot of times I find the stuff that makes make people bristle about me doesn't have anything to do with me.

My 2 cents.......Dingus is world class! Always known you to be respectful of others and their wishes but poke at the ribs, when a person needed a wake up. ;)

Oh my gawd Squishy, my nefarious past comes back to haunt me...although I don't ever remember drinking such a brand...more into depth charges with a schooner of Bud and a sinker of Jack Daniels.

Cheers!
