Nice. I like your approach. I think you could also lose the sleeping bags, and just take a pair of bivy sacs and light jackets...that's what we did in Sept. and they were sufficiently warm.

Thanks for the comment! I added a note about using bivy sacks to the post.

We did consider using bivy sacks, but I didn't want to spend the money at the time. I have a Mountain Hardwear Lamina 20 which compresses down to the size of a football. It has also worked well on El Cap.
