I had a great time in Gozo, the roof is amazing, I hope I'll give it a go in the autumn, need a bit of training in our local cave...done too much yoga and work on the house and working....lately and not enough climbing...

Great photos Laurence! The first one, with the sea below, is very atmospheric.

Is the roof a crack?

Fantastic!

Keep the routes coming, I am hoping to take a month off next year to climb in Malta for my 40th birthday.

My grandparents are from the islands of Malta and Gozo; I have approx 60+ cousins there.

Regards...

Those cliffs look great; I'd like to visit one day.

You know, my dad tried to visit Malta. He made it partway across the Med, got turned back. At the time, visits were somewhat frowned on by the Italians and Germans.

Is it really longer than that 8 pitch roof in China climbed at the Petzl Roc Trip? I don't think so?

the roof itself is horizontal for 55 meters and there is no aid. the one in china fantastic as it is, uses aid and is not a ceiling. The Chinese's one is also on better rock, however the added dimension of the sea and thousands of fossils makes the Maltese roof very interesting. It is also fairly easy for such a gigantic roof. Alquezar in Spain has a 40 meters roof and we have a 33 fully horizontal roof here.
