Had a couple of days of holidays while my better half had to work, so I decided to go on a spontaneous mini-roadtrip to somewhere I'd never been before.
Checked some weather forecasts and decided to go for Val Di Mello.
12 hour drive one way...
Stopped overnight near the German-Austrian border and went on the next day, making a short stop in the bizzarly-rich St. Moritz. Strange place...
Arrived in San Martino in late afternoon and got a room there. (couldnt really be bothered to go camping, and the room was only 25€ per night, which is a joke considering you're in the Alps)
Spent the next 2 days having my mind blown by the nature and the warm, friendly people of Val Masino and Val di Mello. Did some hiking and some bouldering, didn't really bother trying to find climbing partners, time there was too short.
Believe me, this place is magical. It's probably not "little yosemite", but it's great in it's own way. Quiet, laid back, kinda timeless.
And to top it all off, it was not the slightest bit crowded since summer season was already over.
