Grand Canyon Dreamin' 10/7 to 10/13/2012
Sunday November 4, 2012 6:21pm
We thought we would attempt to climb Cheops Plateau, Isis temple, Shiva Temple and Buddha Temple. It didn't work out exactly like that but we had a blast. The participants were Bob R. (Seneca), Gary Carpenter, Scott S., Craig S., myself and my son Peter. Photos by ZB, PB, GC and CS
There is kind of a lot of photos.

We did it the Tomasi Guidebook way, which is way more fun, sustained and exposed than the original Ledge Route that I had done before.

Great TR! It's amazing down there, everything looks so huge, and then when you get the views "under your boot", it's a lot more huge than you thought! Being able to hike down through all of that section is a geologist's dream.

Great report, Zander. I'm hoping to get a permit for May at Bright Angel campground, then day-hiking to the top of Cheops Pyramid/Plateau. Can you say more about what route you took to the top? On the descent, it appears you may have followed the ridge to the Cheops/Isis saddle?
Thanks a lot, Bill

Great trip. The milk cans are actually circa 1938, dropped by air during the first ascent of Shiva Temple, funny story involving Emory Kolb.
