I like this line a lot:
Once you’re living outside, sleeping on the ground, drinking snowmelt, the idea of blitzing up here for a just few days feels almost insolent in some way, if nothing else, to our selves.

From your photos it looks like you were in the Echo Peaks rather than on Cathedral.
